Where Goods Become Great! What is Tar Heel Treasure? Tar Heel Treasure is making great things happen with the good stuff UNC students leave behind! Our students end up with a lot of stuff at the end of the year, and when they move out for the summer they can't take it all with them. Futons, carpets, televisions, desk lamps, binders, food, school supplies, microwaves, etc. If these valuable items didn't find their way to one of our collection locations, they would be discarded into the landfill.
Please note: We will not hold a yard sale this year as we did years past. Donations will be transported from campus collection stations directly the designated charitable organizations. The goal? To collect as many still-usable goods that might otherwise be discarded during the student move-out season and donate them to local charitable organizations. Why Tar Heel Treasure? Tar Heel Treasure keeps good stuff from landing in the Orange County landfill, while providing the community with access to still-usable goods at a low cost. How can I participate? Donations will be accepted at collection locations on campus between April 28 - May 12. Look for the PODS container near your residence hall or on-campus apartment community. Don't ditch it...Donate it!
